Activate landscape file and go to select menu and activate select > All command or press Ctrl . With this the entire Landscape is selected.

Select Edit >Copy and activate Fairyland file and paste in selection in the file.

Activate Fairy .jpg and here we will notice that entire background is white in color. So instead of selecting fairy with lasso it is easier to select background and then inverse the selection.

Activate Magic Wand tool and click on the white area tin the image. We will see that though it is selecting the entire white background. It is also selecting some body part of the fairy. Which was wand to avoid? As the default tolerance is set to 32 the coverage of area getting sleeted slighter.

Select>Deselect or press Ctrl + D to deselect the selection.

In the option bar set tolerance to 20, and click the white area in the imager. The selection is restricted only to white area and now the body part is not getting selected.

Go to select >Inverse or press shif+ctrl + 1 to inverse the selection. Which this the fairy and cupid and the bottom left of the images are selected. As we need just the fairy selected. We will subtract the cupid from the active selection.

Press Mend we will see that the Marquee tool is highlighted in the toolbox. Select Elliptical marquee and in its option bar activate subtract from the selection command.

Dreg the selection around the cupid and make sure that it is no more a pat of the fairy selection. Edits the subtract mode.

We will create a faint glow around the fairy to make it look prominent in the artwork.
