Selection Tools

The group at the top of the toolbox is called as Selection tool. It constitutes of three kind:

1. The Marquees
2. The Lassos
3. The Magic Wand.


The selection tools are used to select all or part of a picture

The marquee tool make rectangular , elliptical , single row , and single column selections.

• The Move Tool moves selections, layers, and guides.
• The Lasso Tools make freehand, polygonal magnetic selections
• The Magic Wand Tool selects similarly colored areas.
• The crop Tool trims images.
• The slice Tool creates slices, the slice selection tool selects slices.
