Printer Screen Frequency
Definition: Screen frequency is the number of halftone cells per inch in the halftone screen that the printer uses to reproduce a color or grayscale separation.
The way printers reproduce images, simulating continuous tone images by printing lines of halftone spots is measured in LPI. Screen Frequency affects the size and sharpness of the halftone spots spots the image setter will redder. Choosing the correct scene frequency will deepen on such things as the type of paper it will be printing on and amount of dot gain expected on the press.
